Rich Ruff

Rich Ruff is currently a private/group instructor at USA Training Centers.  As a player, Ruff has enjoyed success at many different levels at different positions.  In his freshman year at Notre Dame High School, he was part of the 2004 Illinois State Championship team as an infielder.  By his senior year, he had garnered an All-Conference nod as a catcher.

Ruff was a member of the NJCAA World Series Champion Parkland College roster before transferring to Eastern Illinois University and Quincy University.  His final year of college baseball brought him great success as a pitcher for Quincy University.  He threw three shutouts before winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference title.

Ruff was drafted in the 46th round of the 2011 MLB amateur draft by the New York Mets.  He played two seasons in the Mets system and also two years of Independent League baseball. 

His playing career aside, Ruff has also served as pitching coach/hitting instructor at Notre Dame High School and as bullpen coach at Quincy University.
