Laura Jones

Laura is excited to share her passion and knowledge of the game with players, coaches, and parents. Laura focuses on the fundamental mechanics and strength training to promote a long and healthy pitching career. Laura trained for five years with Williamsport High & Kutztown University standout Heidi Loudenslager in addition to attending Penn State's softball camp and Temple's pitcher/catcher clinic. Drawing from these experiences, Laura creates a positive and hard working environment where girls can achieve their maximum potential.

In her experience living in PA, Laura captured two ASA State Championships and a gold medal at the Keystone State Games with the Silver Bullets travel organization. In 2001, she led Warrior Run High School to its first ever playoff appearance, finishing 2nd in the district, while establishing a PA high school record with 352 strike outs on the season. Laura finished her career at Warrior Run with the following records and honors:

* 790 career strike outs
* .32 career ERA
* Susquehanna Valley League Athlete of the Year
* 1st Team All SVL
* 1st Team All-State
* Press Enterprise Overall Spring Athletes MVP
* Ranked one of Toyota's Finest 40 National Athletes
* Inducted into Warrior Run's Wall of Fame, 2001
* Inducted into the PA District IV High School Hall of Fame, June 2009

Laura continued her career at Millersville University, where she played for two years and holds the following individual records and honors for the Marauders:

* Career strike outs (302)
* ERA (1.2)
* Shutouts (9)
* 1st Team All-PSAC and All-Regional
* MU's Defensive MVP both years
* Ranked 6th nationally among the NCAA Division II Strike Out Ratio Leaders (10.6 K's per game)

Laura graduated from Millersville University in 2005 with a BS in International Business and received an MBA from Penn State in 2011. She offers the following types of instruction in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area for all ages and skill levels.

PRIVATE PITCHING: 8U beginners through college level (catcher required)

GROUP PITCHING: 5 to 10 girls at similar skill level (catchers required)

PITCHER/CATCHER: working together on signs and strategy 

CATCHER: basic form, blocking, throw downs & communication (I have personally was never a catcher, but have had some great catchers to learn from)

BATTING: fundamentals, mindset & live batting practice
